s19438 10-31-2012 10:25:36 173.62.167.161 Report to Moderator	i soaked the pipe in kero for two weeks. i just finished running two "bottle" brushes through many times. i then pushged a wire through it that i put sort of a small cork screw on one end then flushed with the garden hose. i still get crud on the wire. now i am thinking of soaking it in gasoline for a few days and start over. any body got something better??? thanks. The sharp spring steel fibre ends scour the inner walls of the tube very well, wash afterwards. This works really well for the small oil gauge tubes as well but in that case use a bicycle cable.   [Reply]  [No Email]

I don't remember what they were called but where I use to work they had some tubing brushes that were on a 5 foot handle and would clean all the steel hyd lines before installing on a machine   [Reply]  [No Email]

WalMart has a pretty good carburetor cleaner in spray cans. Pick up a couple cans and seal one end of the pipe and spray it full and let it set for a while. A lot of it will evaporate, but it should soften the crud. Then run the brush through it again. Just a thought.   [Reply]  [No Email]
