is there an advantage to the spin on oil filter adapter over the original set up?for the to30.thinking about getting the set up for the spin on filter, does it filter the oil better?thanks.

just be sure where the filter is located that it will not be in harms way.

the old canister filter bodies are much stronger than the thin metal spinon oil filter body.

do not want a branch or stick to be kicked up by the front wheel and stick a hole in the spin on filter.

otherwise, the spin on filter is much easier to change.

It"s still a partial flow filter so there is no filtration advantage per se. The control orifce is contained in the oil filter itself since you have to remove the oil tube that contains the control orifice in the OEM filter. I changed mine because it was covenient and easy to change compared to the OEM filter.

If you do a lot of work in the woods, the OEM filter is protected better by the canister case that is much heavier than the spin on filter.

thanks,I might stick with the original setup, sounds safer,I get into enough trouble, don't need a stick poking through my oil filter.
