Langus 09-29-2012 07:38:10 173.24.242.228 Report to Moderator	Hello First question is...Does anybody have a good lead on new threaded studs for between the diff housing and the axle housings? Our TE20 is missing some and it also looks like someone over the years has replaced some with bolts. Second question is...we installed new gaskets between the diff housing and the axle housings and they are basically very thin paper with some kind of very thin coating on it. The instructions dont say if you should add a thin line of gaskets maker to help seal it on or not. Any recomendations on this? When they get moist do they swell up to seal? Seems like an elementary question I know but I want to get it right. Thoughts? Thanks! [Reply]   [No Email]

The studs are different threads on both sides. John, you bring up a good point about adding thickness to the gasket area creating a loose floating diff. John(UK) 09-29-2012 09:48:59 79.76.244.158 Report to Moderator	Re: Couple of questions about TE20 in reply to Langus, 09-29-2012 07:38:10   The gaskets between the diff housing and the Rear Axle Housings need to be the correct ones if you use thicker or thinner ones this alters the float in the Diff. You shouldn't use any sealer, there is no need and if you do, in effect you are using a thicker gasket which will give more free-play. The studs that you need are not listed now, the thread will cause the problems as it is 7/16" x unc one end and UNF the other...John(UK)...fergusontractors@hotmail.com [Reply]  [No Email]
