TO-35 Transmission Oil Dipstick Length

My '56 Ferguson TO-35, Trans Dipstick Length

From curled handle end-to-end, how long is the dipstick?
Or from insert cap to oil end, how long is [i:e67350850c]your[/i:e67350850c] dipstick...

The handle end of mine broke off. I ordered a new one. It came.
I noticed the one in the hole now is about 1 inch longer then the new one.

Vendor says, likely somebody substituted a Ford 9/8/2N Dipstick for the old Harry T. original, which was longer.

Surely I need to know, so the right amount or[i:e67350850c] earl [/i:e67350850c]is in there.

Thanks.

If you will take the bottom bolt out of the side inspection cover that has the dipstick in it and the oil runs out it is over filled. When it gets to the point that the oil is just dribbling out that is the correct amount of oil and you can mark your dipstick accordingly.

OIL DIPSTICK FOR HYDRAULIC FE35/MF35/TO35
The dipstick should be 3-5/8” from the dipstick seat to the HIGH mark..You should only fill to the middle mark unless you are using external power (taking oil from the tractor to operate a loader or trailer)..John(UK)

Thanks John, that's the answer I needed.
