TE 20 steering wheel

I think it will i looked it up on another site for used parts and it's showing the same part number.

If it's splined the one I have will work. The 1 on the tractor has a keyway from what I see with the nut removed. It's in such bad shape I can't even wrap it to get by. I just have to get it off. A sledge didn't move it yet. I'm PB blasting it now. The 9N is keyed but I don't have 1 handy.
I did take it for a ride. It's moving under it's own power now. The brakes are weak, even after adjusting. I hope I don't have to replace 'em. The tires are loaded. (%^(
Thanks

sounds like you might need some heat a little propane torch but i think the TE is plastic so it might not work don't heat the shaft or threads just the out side of wheel to make it expand off the shaft.

Yeah, I'm mentally preparing for that. I'm boiling the gas tank with muratic acid now. Hope I don't overdo it. Not so much rust as it is old gas residue.

The problem with acid is upon rinsing, the rust starts immediatley.
The best one I saw was a fella who tied his tank to the rearwheel on another machine and drove it around. Filled with steel shot it will get it real clean pretty fast.
I did my tank in the electrolysis tank and then just put it back into service.
I should get a magnet suspended from a brass chain and secure it to the fill cap.
Rust will swirl arouind and the magnet should catch it, No?

The magnet is a good idea. The crud in this tank looks more like varnish. I took it to the carwash today and got a lot of it out. I used the degreaser and loosened it up pretty good. Waiting for the rain to stop to finish rinsing it out. The acid didn't do much to what ever is in there. I may have diluted it too much. I used 1 cup of acid to 10 gals. water. I spun a tank from my 8N on my tractor once and did a good job with b.b.s. It was a lot of work getting the tank to stay on the tire and get the b.b.s and rust dust out.

Fit the tank into a cement mixer padded well with old blankets or foam or what ever and put a length of chain inside to loosen the rust. the chain is easy to fish out again. Repair pin holes with fibreglass resin painted on the outside. it works a treat. Mine has been 'repaired' this way since 1985 and is still good. Te 20 steering wheel should have steel spokes and a single keyway. use a 3 leg puller to remove.

The tank has a divider in it that will not let a links very big get in. That's 1 reason I'm trying to get it chemically clean. I don't feel cleaning half the tank will be enuff. There is a small opening along the sides of the divider and will be a real pain to get chain, bb,s, gravel, etc. in or out. N's have many more openings to allow larger objects to escape when needed.
I haven't tried to put the puller on the wheel yet, but wasn't sure if I have room between the wheel and the cover under it. Don't want to mess the cover up.
Thanks,
