I do NOT recommend you schedule a hauling job with Judson Maggert or his contractors. Judson advertises in the Hauling Schedule section of this site to provide hauling services in the
Midwest. On a recent job, he provided an unprofessional contractor driver without the proper trailer equipment for the job.

My brother hired Judson to transport a John Deere A and John Deere BW approximately 200 miles through Minnesota and Wisconsin, and transport a fully restored 1950s two-bottom plow from
Minnesota to the John Deere Archives museum warehouse in Moline, Illinois. Both tractors were not running, and therefore my brother asked that Judson provide a trailer with a winch. In
addition, a trailer with a winch and hydraulic beavertail ramp was requested to load the 950-lbs. tail-wheel plow. Judson said he had the proper winch and hydraulic ramp equipment, and he
also said he would provide rubber wraps for all the tie-down chains to prevent damage to paint.

My brother had to travel 1,600 miles to be present to manage the transportation of the tractors and plow under a tight schedule, therefore he contacted Judson several times in advance to
make sure the proper trailer equipment was available.

Judson sent a contractor hauler for this job. The driver arrived wearing shorts and flip-flop sandals. His trailer was missing the winch and without the hydraulic ramp. The contractor also did
not have enough rubber wraps to cover the tie-down chains, so my brother had to search through his garage to find items to cover the chains.

Fortunately, one tractor?s engine did start and it was driven onto the trailer. The other tractor did not run and the driver said he could buy a 2,000-lbs. rated "come-along" winch ?- apparently
to attempt to load the 5,200-lbs. tractor. Needless to say, that tractor was not loaded, nor did my brother let the driver go anywhere near the museum-quality plow.

Nine hours later (for what should have been a five-hour job for the tractors), only one tractor was transported. My brother demanded, and Judson agreed, to be charged only $100 for the
transportation of one tractor. As a result of poor customer service, Judson lost more than $1,000 in this fiasco ?- and a future customer.

Beware.

Sounds like a fail and the contractor tried to make good, did it really matter what he was wearing?
Most every time i ship something i expect complications, then if all goes well its a blessing.
I have picked up tractors that don't run with no tractor for loading available, and i always wondered why.
Even had to drive running tractors onto the shippers' trailer for him, maybe i'm too tolerant.
Anyways, if i'm shipping a tractor that doesn't run, and supervising the loading, i prepare for whatever
and am seldom surprised.
