They don't need it to make a transaction. If they want to send you a bill or unpaid invoice thru paypal they will need your email address but that is the only time they need it and nothing else associated with your paypal acct. Then he will have what he needs to pay you if he is legitimately buying parts, and you will not have any risk of his doing anything to your account other than sending his money to it. Like Bill said, all they need is your e-mail address to send payment too. I take lots of payments from people with paypal and have never ever needed to have there paypal account number!
