Lenz Truck Center, Fond du Lac, WI

Bought a 2005 Chevy crew cab 3500 dually with 64,000 miles from Lenz Trucks in Fond du Lac, WI. 30 days later, the right front wheel bearing fails and I have to be towed. ZERO help from these guys! All they offered was to sell me the part at cost, and a discounted labor rate. No offer to help with the tow bill, and would not negotiate any farther on the repair. All I got was a cocky smartass attitude. I trailered my truck out of there and took it to my hometown Chevy dealership where I got great service.

Once you got it in the drive the first day just what did you do in the way of a shake down check?? My guess was the inside seal was bad. Had that happen to me once. Carry road service on my insurance to cover the tow.

Dr Gag, not so fast.
Had he purchased the truck from an individual, he would have likely paid less. Those sales are legally "as is, where is", as the private seller is not required or equiped to inspect the vehicle past what they already know about it.
Any dealer has the resources and is required to "check out" any vehicle they sell. They also charge more for it.
So, it is very strange that a wheel bearing would go out in 30 days. It tells me that either they did not inspect the truck, or they did and choose (like many crooks) to not say anything.
Unless he put 30,000 miles on it in 30 days, the selling dealer should have made it good.

Let me tell you something. car dealers are scum. That right, I said it. they will tell you anything just to get something sold. play with numbers just to bump up the price. I dont deal with these a$$ clowns.

I always buy from a private party. since used trucks are as is, you can get a better deal.

why couldn't a wheel bearing fail in thirty days ? Here used car dealers can sell anything "As is " or any warranty they decide . True the dealer should have shown some good wiil , but certainly not mandated . lot of how far a seller will go has to do with buyers attitude also . Come in steaming and cussing you are less likely to get as good of service .

That is an understatement. Money and high profits are more important to a car dealer than their wife, kids, family, or friends.
A buddy of mine was contacted by the local FORD dealer. Said they just traded (1)THAT MORNING for a truck they thought he would like to look at. They said it was a (2)LOCAL TRADE and a (3)ONE OWNER.
(1), The truck had been on their other lot for over a month and no sale. (2) The truck came from an auction about 100 miles away, (3) The Car Fax indicated that it had two owners. The first one had it about 6 years, the second one less than 5 months.
These guys are nothing but crooks with a license to steal.
The biggest problem is that they have deeper pockets than many of their customers, so good luck trying to sue them, even though you would be in the right and they would be guilty.
Our Constitution is no longer worth the paper it is written on. It states "liberty and justice for all". What that means today is justice for those that have the most money and the sleaziest legal team.

You are correct, nor is it mandated that we buy anything else from dealers that will not do the right things. In any business, you have to sometimes give a little to help your reputation for the long haul.
Dealers go belly up and can't figure it out. DUH!
Or, their numbers drop, so they start running those stupid "We are number one!" TV ads.
Many of them are as close as they can get to "number one", they are a large pile of steaming stinking "number two".
