Seems to me the fellow should be straight up with you.

since you're having thoughts about the $1000 tells me you're a straight up guy. I think you have given hum enough time.

Through no fault of my own, I once had to back out of a deal on a M farmall. I went to see him, and explained the situation, I did not want to tie him up.

The guy was straight up and gave me my money back, even though I did not ask. I gave him a few hundred back for his trouble. The man was dumbfounded. Now I can buy anything, anytime from him. just on my word if I dont have the cash.

Being straight up is the only way to go. he is being wrong avoiding you. I bet if he told you the scoop, you would understand, and work with him.

I'd put that tractor back up for sale if I were you. The man tied you up, and was disrespectful. whether or not you refunded the 1000 is your call. if it were me, I MIGHT offer him part, if he asked nicely.

Andy

I agree with your post. As far as refunding some of the money, I think it should be dependent on what he ends up selling the tractor for. If he gets the same price, refund about 80% of the deposit for his trouble. Since the guy is avoiding him, he could wait till the guy actually contacts him before just sending any money. It's in the guys best interest to contact the seller and the seller has done everything possible to accomadate him. The seller put the ball in the other guys court. It's up to him to do something with it. Dave
