Attached is a reponse I received after asking a question through this website about a 730 John deere tractor. The ad I asked about has been taken off so I'm not able to find out if this is the same guy that even posted the ad.

The first e-mail is at the bottom of the page then my response, than the latest first.
I thought I had to at least get this guys name out there so he can't scam money from anyone.

Hi ,

Last month I’ve opened a “Wendy’s " franchise in Canada were I will be staying until December. This financial crisis is killing me, so I’m, forced to sell some of my goods to keep my business running.
I had an interested buyer last week who said he will buy the tractor if I fly back to Texas to ship it, so I got a plane ticket to Texas, and when I arrived there, he didn't show up and when I called him he said that he is sorry but he can’t buy it anymore because his loan was rejected by the bank! Now I don't want to buy another plane ticket until I have a proof that you are serious and that you have the money for the tractor.

So this is what I suggest, this is the safest way for the both of us.
You must go to Money Gram with a relative or a friend, (someone you trust).
Here comes the best part: your relative will send the money to your name in Houston,Tx.
This way you will have total control of your money, since you are the Receiver you are the only one that can pick them up!
And I will be 100 % sure that you are a serious buyer and that you will be in Houston, because once the money is sent to you, you have to be in Houston,Tx. to pick them up. Once you show me a photo or a scan copy of the receipt from Money Gram in the amount of $2500, I will fly back home to meet you and make the deal in person. After you inspect the tractor and decide to buy it, I will sign the title and handle it to you, and then you will pick up the money from Money Gram and pay me cash in hand.
Or, if you are busy or for some reason won’t be able to pick up the tractor from my place, then I can ship the tractor to your address and you can pay me after you receive and inspect it in person. I will pay the shipping fee and you pay the Money Gram fee.
If you understand and agree with my terms please reply with:"LET'S DO IT":)

PLEASE LET ME KNOW YOUR PHONE NUMBER AND I WILL CALL YOU TO DISCUSS ABOUT THE DEAL!

Thanks...

Hi,

I've advertised my tractor on 10 states because i want to sell it fast and i can also provide shipping.
I had an interested buyer that sent me $400 to ship the tractor to his place. And when i got to Houston he called to inform me that his loan was rejected and he is not purchasing the tractor anymore. He said I should keep the $400 for my effort.

I've attached some more photo's here:

John Deere 730 Diesel Tractor

Fuel:Diesel
Model Year:1959

1959 John Deere 730 diesel tractor. Wide front, electric start. This tractor was purchased at an estate auction in 2004. Know nothing about the history of this tractor, except previous owner was a retired farmer and as a hobby he rejuvenated John Deere tractors. Since 2004, when purchased, it was used for grading 1/2 mile driveway and the tractor is an excellent running tractor.
Has a good 3 point hydraulic - it will not leak off holding a heavy duty 9 foot blade.

Rear tires are 15.5x38 Firestone with 70% tread- new front tires. The tachometer show 2045 hrs. It was probably been replaced.
Sheet metal has no dents and in good shape.
Everything else is in good condition.

The last price is: $2,500
Please let me know if you're interested so I can provide you with further details regarding the transaction.
So thanks to my previous buyer,if needed i can now cover shipping fees to your place.
Or you are welcomed to pick it up in person.

Thank you,

Anyone who falls for that deserves what he gets.
A blind man could see that's a scam.

Bob,

The buyer should not be faulted when the seller is a scammer, but come on. A nice 730 D for $2,500? Did that not just set off red flags everywhere as to it being real? How about the long drawn out stories about advertising it in 10 states. That is impossible to believe. And the whole Money gram garbage, that is a farce in itself.
Hope you are not out of any money.
Anytime it sounds too good to be true, it likely is.
He is still at fault.

Initially I saw a photo ad on YT for a 730 for 2500.00. I emailed him (through the site) and wanted to know what was wrong with it for that price. Your reading the tailend of how he responded to me. This guy posts a tractor ad which I ask a question about, the scam is that he now has my e-mail address(and how many others) Pulls the ad, and is able to contact me without going through YT.
Yes I realized it was a scam when I get the first e-mail. I'm not out any money just my e-mail address.
I posted this so others know about it, to keep on there toes. What a shame you even have to watch out going to some of the ads.
Bob

Thanks for posting this Bob. It's a shame there are people like that.

Even though we ourselves know better than to fall for their schemes, there are always some trusting or naive ones that do.
