Be ware of one BILL STEVENSON , 434 Hill Street in Belle Vernon, PA 15012 who is in the process of giving me the “stiff” for OVER $600 in parts for Model “H” tractors to include one set of grilles! He WAS talking to me at least on the phone – now goes into one of those “I can’t hear you” routines, but stays on the line! And so I know he is receiving – and doing a poor job of faking it.

This is equivalent to someone coming and steeling my lawn mower and hedge trimmer which is enough to make anyone’s blood boil a little. I was foolish in extending credit to a buyer I did not know – I realize this, and the experience with Bill Stevenson will make me more reluctant to extend credit to anyone in the future. I hate it, but I must avoid this kind of loss in the days ahead.

If you know this man, telephone (724) 929-2630 or (724) 328-3793, I’d encourage you to prompt him to pay his bills as promised. Or at least call him to express your concern! (PatB)

Thanks Pat. Seems alot of folks are getting "stiffed" for these H parts anymore. Maybe he'll come around, cell phones are kind of a hassle to hear on sometimes, but not always. Hope it all works out!

UPDATE -- It turns out this guy is a professional scam artist, just out of prison, and is at it again. He goes by first names of Bill, Will, William, etc. and will often times drop the "son" off his last name of Stevenson.

For any and all who have been taken - please contact Sergeant Rider at the Belle Vernon Police Department; telephone (724) 929-7011. And if you have any documentation to send to Sgt Rider, send FAX to (724) 929-2012.

This person is a serious predator and must be stopped. If you have been hurt by him, or know someone who has -- please pass this vital data on to Sgt Rider of the Belle Vernon PD. Time is of the essence for those who wish to recover property he has received unlawfully because (a) Stevenson is under house arrest and (b) an official sweep is to be made of his premises within days. (PatB)

Thanks for the heads up Pat. I tend to trust anyone who advertizes on the forum. So far I have been lucky but as you point out the crud of the earth know no boundries and are very inovative in their scams.

Good luck in recovering your loss.

I am not familiar with the laws there, my dad was taken for a ride by this "parts dealer". At the time there was several complaints filed against this knuckle head and he was convicted. Dad recieved a letter from the victims advocate with the court system explaining what he was convicted of. Anyone who has had a recent dealing with him and was taken for any amount of money needs to contact the police department and then follow up with the prosecutors office to have him prosecuted again and have his probation/parole revoked so he can do his time where he belongs instead of the comforts of his own home. The court systems are broken and this guy needs a few more convictions to send him away probation obviously did not grab his attention.

We at Wally's Tractor Hats were also "taken" by this guy. He "only" got us for $85.00 on 1/8/10. He tried to purchase another $215.00 from us on 1/11/10 but we declined to send out the items until we received payment for the first order. We also heard from the Oliver Heritage magazine people and were told he never paid for his subscription there either. This gives new meaning to "seller beware". Thanks for the police info, will be sending them our info.

Hi folks, I have nothing in this, but this mornings newspaper(The Tribune Review),says William Charles Stevenson of Belle Vernon is in Westmoreland cnty prison.Charged in tractor parts scams.

42 counts of theft by deception,45 counts of receiving stolen property. Can't post a link, but if you google tribune review, you should be able to read the whole article.

Again, I have nothing in it,but just wanted to update you that have.

I placed an ad in Oliver Heritage looking for a family tractor. Bill called me 1-5-10 and said he had it. He said he would get it out to me in the next few weeks. To date I've not recieved the tractor and found out yesterday he was arrested on Friday and that my tractor does not exist. I just got done talking to the Belle Vernon Police Dept. about him. I got took for $1200 on the deal and luckily I did not send him the full amount. I'm upset that I'm out some money, which is my own fault for not researching the guy better. As I have said "Live and learn, crash and burn" .
