First off, I am not trying to start a fight or bicker. I am stating facts and hope that others will do the same.

I bought a COMPLETE late styled John Deere B transmission from Harlan. When it arrived, it was missing 4th and 6th gears and had one gear with the threads messed up. I emailed Harlan and he said that maybe it was lost in the mail or was lost when we opened it. I told him the boxes WERE NOT and HAD NOT been opened or damaged and that we had already RECHECKED the packing (newspaper). He never explained the damaged gear.

After several emails, he wanted to know what I wanted and I told him the gears. He said he would send them the NEXT time he had the parts. I watched his auctions and he listed a complete transmission on ebay with the parts that were missing from my auction. I emailed several times and he never responded BECAUSE THE TIME HAD ELAPSED TO LEAVE FEEDBACK ON EBAY! (I even bought another auction from him thinking it would save him on shipping and told him he could ship the gears with it.) What else can I do to help HIM FIX HIS MISTAKE?

Also, while watching his auctions, HIS FEEDBACK WAS NOT ALWAYS 100%. The bad feedback kept disapearing.

Over three months without the PROMISED GEARS is long enough. I thought I will finally get a response from him on this website since he has been posting a lot lately.

Again, keep to the facts.

Thank you!

NOT SURPRISING to hear your comments,,,he should quit spending all his time complaining about other crooks like he has for the last several months on that 70 lp std deal,,,,,,,,,and deliver the goods you paid for,,,,,,the 100 % positive feedback is a highly inflated,,,its time more people speak up as you did,,,,,,,,however most people are trying to put in a honest days work and not sit on the computer all day as the kruggiemonster

Too bad you didn't google his user name and regular name before you bought anything from him. This goes for any seller, not just yours in question. It always seems that the more bad there is to report about someone, the more you see it. If I was in your shoes, I would spend the 15 or 20 bucks and host one of those free websites with this information as it happened to you. Bad experiences seem to travel 10 times faster than the good ones do and I would be one to make it available to the world. If this is an Ebay thing, you can email them as well with the details, many times they will work with you if you used their message service, they do retain those messages. Since Ebay owns Paypal, you may also have some ground to stand on with getting your money back if paid as such.

Katie, Keeping to the facts, I did send all of your gears, I had them laid on out cardboard just as shown in the listing, when I packaged them everything that was on the cardboard was packed and shipped. I emailed you asked how much you thought the gears were worth, and I would refund that amount. Granted you got an entire transmission for $75, now I know the cost of the product isnt of issue, but ive sold just two single gears before for well over $100. As far as my feedback goes, Yes I did have some negatives, and yes they were removed because the issues with the buyers were resolved and both parties were happy. Once in awhile out of hundreds of transactions a month, something may get overlooked or delayed with no fault of the buyer, but I resolved the issues to the buyers satisfaction and they were glad to remove the feedback. Tell you what, I didnt want to separate the entire transmission that I had listed, and was waiting to get a bad tranny that would have a good 4th and 6th, I will send you the gears you wanted, and not because you posted this message on here and i want to make myself sound good, im doing it because I dont want to be compared to other sellers that are out to take peoples money and misrepresent their items. Please email me at [email protected] and You will get a response within 24 hours and your gears within 72 hours. This is the best I can offer, Im not one to be a hipocrite and like I said I dont want to be compared to other bad named sellers. My reputation is on the line and ill keep it good.

And before the rest of you jump the gun and want to call me a crook that all I do is sit on my computer all day, theres about a routine number of 5 or so of you that always have something to say about me, compare that 5, to the 1500+ ive dealt with with good transactions over the last year. And yes I do have to sit on my computer to list things on ebay, if you can sell on ebay without the use of a computer you are simply magic.

Ending note, Im sorry Katie, I should have split up my complete B tranny to get your gears to you, I was wrong on my end, you should have your gears by now, and any possible future transactions will be completed on time to your satisfaction.

If anyone would like to discuss anything with me personally you can reach me at 507-256-4693 evenings or 507-437-6588 Days, or email at [email protected]

Im one of the very few that puts my actual name and info on here because im not afraid to stand behind my comments like some.

Good Day to All

The keeping to the facts comment was in reference to the disclaimer: "No personal attacks on the buyer or seller."

Harlan: Why did you not reply to my emails and tell me your intentions directly. (It looks like you only replied because of my post since I have not had a response from you in several months.)

I know I got a good buy, but you said it was complete. Either the transmission WAS NOT COMPLETE or you did not pack it all. Either way, I want/need the gears. Please send them and I will post on here and email you when I receive them. I hope you understand why my posts sound like I am upset.

Thank you.

I do not have a dog in this hunt. I do not know either the buyer nor the seller.
That means that I can make unbiased comments based on what both of you stated happened.
Yes, Harlan, "things" do happen in spite of our best efforts. And, the more transactions, the higher the chance for "things" to happen.
What no one in your shoes can ever truly cover over is the lack or absence of communication when things do go wrong.
When people do not respond and you know that they have a working phone and computer, it ALWAYS means that something is "rotten in Denmark".
I see sloppy sellers that just really and truly do not care about anything but how much money they can make. They feel that everything is all about THEM. They really do not care if a buyer gets screwed or cheated.
BUT, when someone brings it to light, they get all excited and all of sudden get busy trying to "justify" their slack actions. Just amazing isn't it?
They cannot seem to reply to the buyer's frustrations, but they sure can jump on here and reply trying to save their "reputation".
When a seller has had consistant trouble, they need to take a serious look at "the man in the mirror".
One cannot salvage a bad deal by having others state what a "smooth transaction" they had.
It is like a bucket with a hole in it. You can paint the rest of the bucket and make it look brand new, but until you properly repair the hole, you still have a faulty bucket.
When things do go wrong, use as much energy to fix it quickly and directly with the buyer as you do coming on here trying to smooth things over. It will pay big dividends.
