Good luck buying anything from Mr Hilton. We set up a pick up time ligned up a truck and a trailer to drive to Ohio to purchase 2 tractors from him and literally 2 hours before we left he called and told us his grandfather was in the hospital. This was ok until he promised to call us to reschedule and wont return any calls or e-mails. I feel he figured he set the price too cheap and backed out or he sold the tractors to someone else and that would have been ok had he atleast called.
 
I have talked with David over e-mail a few times, he had some interest when I had things for sale in the past. Never actually talked with him personally; never actually sold him anything. He always offered a lower price than I was willing to sell for.
Understand your frustration especially so close to getting ready to leave to pick up your machines, but I have been in a postion where the unexpected comes up and I have to change plans on folks as well. As you said at least he had the courtesy to call and let you know. There may be more to the story. . . but you have not lost money on the deal nor has someone sold you something that turned out to be misadvertised.

Again, not defending Mr. Hilton, but worse things have happened. I would probably just as frustrated though and would want to talk about it too. Good thing to keep in mind if ever dealing with him again.
 
I though dave had the H's for sale and the JD A with a stuck motor and tracy was selling an A for 1800 and B for 2200 ouch. Still on craigslist in columbus Ohio
 
i was to buy 2 john deeres from david hilton a mans word should be good with dealing with him from 2or3 states i feel he is not a man of his word i set up to pick up the 2 jd trators i gave him my word that i wood pick them up from him and try to call many times david not respond to any of my calls or emails
