I occasionally sell items in the U.S. and Canada using several free classified and dedicated topic websites and a few times on ebay. The payment method I have used on all sales is Postal Money Order and I have never had a problem. Buyer sends money, I send product. Simple as that. And if you read my Buyers and Sellers Suggestions you know that I take common sense precautions.
I learned today that in their wisdom of arrogance ebay has decided to gain control of all revenue crossing their website by forcing all customers to use their paypal company for all transactions. I refuse to allow pay pal to earn interest on my money while playing nursemaid over my dealings and then deciding when and if I should receive payment for my goods. I will handle my own due diligence. Think of the thousands of dollars ebay will now earn everyday using your money and then charging selling fees on top of that. They tried to pull the same thing in Australia and the govt. there told them to forget it, no way could they force Australian users into using pay pal.
Their gustapo type arrogance is disgusting.
I don’t really need them anyway, but I have made the decision to never use ebay again for any reason. And you know what, it feels pretty good.
