Beware! We sold a tractor to him 4 wks ago, didn't show up two weeks in a row. Claimed he had trailer trouble, now truck trouble. Didn't call or e-mail. Get paid up front, don't hold any tractor's for him. Our mistake, don't let it be your's.

You still have the tractor and you didn't lose any money. A bunch of people on here have lost the tractor and never got paid. Re-advertise your tractor. Get a deposit or sell it to the first person who brings the money. You snoose, you lose. If you didn't get any money, you didn't sell the tractor. There are tire kickers for everything. You're still OK. Dave

Yes, we understand we didn't lose any money. We lost other interested parties and were lied too.
Very upsetting that times have changed. A man's word use to mean something, not anymore. Thanks for the reply.

You almost have to get the names and numbers of the other interested parties in case the potential buyer never shows up. Realtors will take secondary offers for that reason. I sold my former acreage and the realtor even said she'd take secondary offers. I had a problem with the buyer forgetting about the $5000 deposit and could have cancelled the deal. I know there was a lot of interest in my place and I asked the realtor about other offers. She didn't take any! I did get $1000 taken off the commission but I was pretty mad at the realtor over the whole way she went about things. And she was supposed to be this really great, experienced realtor! She also told the buyers that the homemade wood heater, I made, they could keep! I told her very specifically that it was going in the beginning. Then she tried to get me to lower my price by $500! In the end, she said she would give the buyers $500 to get a heater. She also gave the washer and dryer which I wanted to take. I was ticked off about that as well but didn't push the issue too much. In hindsight, I should have cancelled the whole deal and sold my place myself. I had an excellent location to sell an acreage. Dave

He followed through! Came today and picked up the tractor. All is better with the world today!
Thanks for you input.

I haul things for people. In a typical month, 85-100% of my customers will chicken out on a deal.
Cowards are everywhere. Mostly it is men who cannot make and keep a commitment. Most people will not make a deposit, so you know what they are. They play you like a puppet.

so maybe he did have trailer/truck problems huh
dont suppose you apologized to him for starting this thread by any chance
