I"m glad you were happy. I had a bad deal. I think I got $125 back on a $25O part which is better than nothing but the dishonesty is what I was really disappointed in. And the broken casting was one of many things hidden. Email if you want more details, pics, add description of the tractor I bought, or copies of the emails. Aaron

Just wanted to add that I know the tractor was 50yrs old and that is was used. That is obvious and I knew this before I purchased the tractor. That was pretty much his excuse.

I had one transaction w/ Harlan on Ebay. The manifold I bought had a hole in it, but Harlan did make it right and refund my money. That was all I could ask for.

I have purchased a lot of parts from Harlan over the past 5 years and have not had any issues. He is always willing to send pics of the parts before purchasing. He's treated me fairly.

Aaron, I feel bad about the pto on the 620 last year, but I did give you want you asked, and that was the $125 back, I honestly didnt know it was broken. As far as you go caseplowboy, you still have yet to reveal your identity to these message boards, still brave enough to tie your words with your name, Oh well. I try my best to please everyone, out of 5,000+ ebay transactions there can always be an issue or two, but my feedback stands for itself and ill do whatever it takes to make the buyer happy and satisfied,

Case, why dont you back off until you are man enough to tell us who you are. There aint nothing in a claim unless you can back it up. Aaron, harlan seems to have a good reputation here and he has made things right, or atleast tried.

No one parts out 50 year old parade ready tractors. Grease, rust and dirt cover things up. When i got my 1939 AC B and discovered the block was broke, did i hold it against the seller??? No, the 10" gash was covered in grease and neither him or me saw it. I;d buy another tractor from him any day. Lesson learned, now i look at blocks carefully, but that incident was no ones fault.

Accidents happen, and things get over-looked. One reason i clean stuff off before i sell it is to make sure i diddnt miss anything. Even then, i could miss something. As could harlan. Stuff happens, and all you can do is to try to make it right with the person.

Harlan, Why do you part out restored tractors? I see you you parted out a restored B. It so sad to see that such nice looking tractors are being torn down for parts. Why don't you just part out non-running tractors? You could buy them cheaper and still get good money from them. I know the tractors you part out must be good ones by what you say in your descriptions:

"Came off of the Restored B Shown Below. Excellent Carb! That B would idle down to almost nothing, it was easier to tell that it was running by watching the flywheel turn, rather than hearing it."

If these restored tractors are being parted out, and lots of people are scrapping the old non-running ones with the high scrap prices, there will be very little tractors left.

My 2 cents:

I dont mind people parting out tractors. We lose one but from its remains sevral, sometimes a dozen or more, can come back to life. True, we do lose one good tractor, but sevral just like it can come back to work, parades and shows. I think its worth it. We only lose something if anything gets scrapped.

And, if you buy that used carb, its going to be cheaper then a new one and with that saved money, you can put something towards your next tractor rescued from the fence row or junk man.

He has parted out several tractors, If I remember right, he says he has parted out hundreds of tractors. There are several other people on eBay parting out running tractors. I used to be able to find tractors a lot, there used to be several around, but there are not as many around anymore. When I bought my John Deere A at a auction 2 years ago, I was bidding against a man from a scrap yard. Just about every time I look on eBay for parts, most people say the parts are off running tractors, and when they are finished parting it out, the rest goes for scrap. It is sad because a tractor that someone probably spent many hours or years restoring has been parted out after the owner sold it.

Andy, With over 300,000 Bs and 300,000 As produced, there is no shortage of them, I part out runnings just because they are worth more in parts. Would you rather buy a mag that you have to rebuild or one that is working order? would you rather buy a carb that is rusted solid or one that run on a tractor. This is what I do for a living, as Lanse stated, I may part out 1 tractor to save 10 others that someone else may not have been able to find good parts for. If you are looking for tractors let me know what you want and ill find it, No shortage of them yet. Thanks

Got a set of rear rims from Harlan...good fair price. nice set of rims better than described. Good guy to deal with.
