Farmall SM Governor

Does anyone have a good working governor for a 1953 Super M they'd sell? Another question; will a governor from a H fit into a Super M properly? I haven't done much messing with governors before. I have an H sitting around that I'm willing to temporarily cannibalize.

The parts will inter change , but first take the cover off and see if your spring is broken? I don't think you want to take parts off of one to fix the other, your going to have to buy some parts sooner or later, it might as well be sooner.

I couldn't agree more however, I am going to a pull on Saturday. The spring isn't broken. I've been in there a few times and everything looks and feels normal. If there is something worn out, I cant tell where.

Drive gear, upper casting and throttle tube along with front throttle tube connecting link needs changed to use on SM. Take your spare apart and study how things work. Pretty simple units to figure out what the problem is if you study them. Rock shaft if original has needle bearings that imbed places in the shaft sometimes or don't move smoothly, so important to completely disassemble to check everything. Check weights for pivot wear and sleeve, bearing and washer that moves the weights. After slop in parts is okay, a good spring and adjustments should do it.
