Farmall 1206 value what to look for

Ok so I am more of a green guy at heart, we farm with green and I collect New Gen Deere 10 and 20 series, but I have always had a soft spot for the 1206 tractors. My first tractor was a Farmall H that I overhauled and painted in 4-H but the letter series are as far as my red knowledge extends. I found a 1206 at a consignment sale and was curious what all I should look at on it to make sure its not a wore out money pit. I will use it for odd jobs around the farm and someday restore it. Model F 1206 D Serial # 7912 S-Y. Is the D row crop and what does the S-Y mean? Is the wide front original? Is that a Farmall quick hitch or off brand? Tach shows 2096 hours, seems low to be correct. What should I check on it? I know everyone says bad things about the T/A but how can a check it in a auction row or cant you really? Any advice would be appreciated as I have no knowledge of these beasts. What would this tractor be worth? Thank you!! Matt

D means diesel. The S is TA. The Y is a 12gpm hydraulic pump. If the Ta slips it would be an item to look at. If there are many people there it will not go cheap. It is become a collectors tractor. Look at tractor house at asking prices.
