I bought the 1929 Regular (No Compression- Previous Posts) and the head is in bad shape. The Valve seats are pitted deep and valves shot. I was going to work with it but now see a crack going from one of the valve seats away& up and no one wants to mess with putting time in grinding.
The Scrap Man I got it from has another Regular (1928) and I am thinking about picking it up for parts. Hopefully it has a better head - Magneto-Front Rims-Overdrive and a few other needed parts that would justify the $500.00 purchase. Taking parts off and buying only what I need is not an option with this Junker - he sells what easy parts he can and then the rest goes in a dumpster for scrap..
The question is, are all Regular heads inner-changeable (1928-1929). Also would any parts off a 1936 F-20 work on a Regular. There is one of them that could also be bought for parts (instead of the regular) but I want to limit how much extra junk I waste money on. More stuff on the Regular that would seem to match what I am wanting to do. cleddy
