Regular for parts

I bought the 1929 Regular (No Compression- Previous Posts) and the head is in bad shape. The Valve seats are pitted deep and valves shot. I was going to work with it but now see a crack going from one of the valve seats away& up and no one wants to mess with putting time in grinding.

The Scrap Man I got it from has another Regular (1928) and I am thinking about picking it up for parts. Hopefully it has a better head - Magneto-Front Rims-Overdrive and a few other needed parts that would justify the $500.00 purchase. Taking parts off and buying only what I need is not an option with this Junker - he sells what easy parts he can and then the rest goes in a dumpster for scrap..

The question is, are all Regular heads inner-changeable (1928-1929). Also would any parts off a 1936 F-20 work on a Regular. There is one of them that could also be bought for parts (instead of the regular) but I want to limit how much extra junk I waste money on. More stuff on the Regular that would seem to match what I am wanting to do. cleddy

BUY IT! asfar as I know,a Regular is a Regular. The OD unit is worth 500 by itself. There should lots of oportunity to sell more parts after you get what you need.Remember....They dont make parts for those anymore.

Regular heads will all fit Regulars. F-20 heads will fit most any Regular. The last couple years of F-20 things changed like fan and fan pully to V-belt, But the head should still fit and work. Kenny Blair sells on ebay alot of F series parts enough to put any F tractor back together. oldiron29

Where are you located? The guy has 3 - F-20's and one does run he said (more money) and comes with a big old FarmHand loader on it. The other one may run and one is pretty rough. They are in eastern Nebraska.cleddy

I got the tractor and got it home. Maybe this one will run. Not likely, but fun to try. Engine is free and turns over and seems to be fairly original. I always end up with the F & H rims which I would prefer original but have a set Cut-off-weld original that I can work with. What is with people putting tires on the wrong way??- They are going away first. Thought you would like some pictures. Cleddy
