Pulsating 340.

Had my 340 out raking hay this afternoon. While doing this I kept hearing a strange sound. Sounded like a nest full of hungry birds chirping. When I was done raking I backed the tractor in the barn and let it idle for a few minutes before I shut it down. That's when I noticed the power beyond hose on the loader control valve was pulsating. Is this normal? I never saw it do this before, but then again I never run it this long until now. I've been busy doing small repairs and improvements all this time. I hope I don't have another hydraulic problem to deal with.

The trouble you have had would make the last three hairs
fall out of my head . Do you fell like your tel-a-depth is
adjusted correctly , does your loader fell like it is
working correctly ? Sounds like hydro is loading and
unloading randomly ?

The loader works alright, and so does the fast hitch. If the hydraulics are loading up pressure that should mean there is a restriction somewhere in the system, but where would that restriction be?

(quoted from post at 14:27:22 09/01/15) You may have some water in the system. does it do it after the tractor has cooled down?

I'm going to start the tractor later this morning to see if it does the pulsating when cold. There is little possibility of water in the system. After changing the loader control valve, this past winter, the hose connection from the pump came loose and most of the hydraulic fluid was lost on the floor, so I had to refill the transmission with new oil. I'm thinking the problem could be in the tel-a-depth valve I installed awhile back.

If the screen and pilot hole in the control valve (regulator block)are beginning to get plugged, the system will pulse into pressure, then release. Jim

I ran the tractor up to the operating temperature this morning and it didn't do any pulsating. I filled the transmission with the Farm and Fleet version of Case/IH trans hydraulic fluid when I had the spill. Could there be a chance that the fluid was foaming when hot? The pulsating did sound like air in the system. Anyway, It didn't do it this morning, so I'm not going to worry about it for now.
