I just got a kit that included a throw out bearing but my tractor has a carrier do I need this part or does bearing some how go inside

You probably have to pull the old bearing itself off of the carrier and push the new one on.

Like Arnold says below, Keep the carrier and put the new bearing in the carrier. You might need a press to push the old one out and the new one in.

I had to get a different carrier as mine was the old style bearing.

Your tractor could have either a carbon block or ball type throw out bearing. They had different carriers. If your new bearing isn't the same style as the old, you will need to change the carrier.
