Bad day with the Farmall C

My C has been a good old workhorse for years. I have been wanting to rebuild the engine to get some of the lost power back from the years. I was out using the back blade to scrape off some gravel in the shed when it just quit moving in gear. I was like !@#$!!!!

When I got the transmission top off, this is what I found.

Well, it seems like I have plenty of power.

It wiped out the axle, ends of the splines on the bull gear and I found cracks in the axle housing.

I think it was the tractor gods telling me I should have went to the Half Century of Progress this weekend.

Well it could have been your truck if you had been driving to the show at least the farmall isn't as needed. I have a super c listed in louisiana if you need part I may have them just look back in the photo ads and get my number if I have what you need I will help.

The cracked Axle housing may have allowed the axle to flex causing the crystallization and fatigue failure I see at the fracture. Just a thought. Jim

I have a 1950 C that I started parting out. I'll sell you the axle and housing for a penance... cover my time & handling fees and pay shipping and the parts are yours.
