Are h and m narrow front end the same I have a M for parts but have a h that needs a front end. Can I just swap them and be fine?

(quoted from post at 11:19:01 08/30/15) No. Each are different animals. M is much heavier.

Will it work so I don't have to buy one for an h if I change the whole front end.

NO. NOTHING on H or M fronts will interchange.Not hubs.not bearings.Not bolster.Not even the 4 upper mounting bolts.The
rims, yes. But nothing else You will need a front from another H,300,350.Only

No, the M is heavier. I suppose you could make an adaptor plate with the H pattern on top and the M on bottom, 3/4" using flat head flush set screws for the H and tapped holes for the M. But H narrow front pedestals are quite common and cheap.

(quoted from post at 12:51:09 08/30/15) I do but the books I have say they are the same and don't say wide or narrow front.

Apparently you are looking in aftermarket parts catalogs. Every one of those I have looked at indicates the front wheel bearings are the same for the M and H, either narrow or wide front. I will flat out guarantee you that those catalogs are WRONG!!

On an 'old style' wide front(tie rods in front) the bearings/hubs are same as H/SH.That is the only simularity.A narrow and
single are totally different for H or M.They will NOT interchange, either whole or parts. As was said the catalogs are wrong. That
is unless you have an 'aftermarket' narrow. And those do not exist. But if you dont believe us,drag out your wrenches, jacks etc
and try it. Prove us wrong.
