Quick question - I don't have a manual showing the 193 on a Super A with the draft link being used.
When there is no draft link, like on a regular A, I think you set the draft by selecting which hole in the hinge plate you connect the front of the drawbar to and you use a mechanical lever system to raise the low at the end of a row.
On a Super A, with the draft link, you can set it dynamically, so I'm thinking the drawbar is allowed to hinge and float at the front end of the drawbar (i.e. not pinned to the hinge plates) and you instead set draft angle with the draft link and hydraulics. In this scenario, when the plower is in use, I'm assuming the rockshaft is left set low so that the draft link does not risk putting tension on the lift chain (?)
What I don't get, is how do you lift the plow at the end of a row? Do you use the draft link to push the front of the plow tongue down, or do you still use the rockshaft to lift the back? If you use the rear rockshaft and the lift chain to raise the plow, would you not be putting tons of pull force onto the draft link (i.e. tensioning it until something breaks)? I know the tongue plate is hinged, but not sure of allowable travel.
I guess the same consideration could be made for the mechanical lift on an A, but it would strain the hinge plates and drawbar.
Or am I missing something here?
