Working on my brother's 756 today to install an axle oil seal. The rear wheels are clamped to the axle by a single bolt drawing two wedges together. We finally got the inner one free by first putting as much pressure as possible on the bolt and then beating the inner one repeatedly with a 1" steel rod and a 12 lb. sledgehammer. Now the outer one is stuck just as badly and we can't get to it like the other one. Anybody know a solution to freeing it up? Thought perhaps driving it with just one wedge holding might loosen it, but so far no luck.

Yep,as Allen says, get the wedge tool/fixture.Easy as pie. If you had a manual,it would have told you......

Well, after supper we went at it again and got it loose. We parked it with the wedges down, on asphalt pavement, and put a chain around the top of the tire and rim, pulled sideways with another tractor until it almost raised the other rear tire off the ground, and it moved just a tiny bit. Did that a couple more times and it loosened slightly, and we could force it out with the bolt. Glad we got that much accomplished!
