Farmall super MTA help

stupid question but could (or would) someone add a TA to a super m? My super mta I got only has faded super m stickers on the side. The serial # matches the super mta range but is also in a super m range? The rest of the plate is unreadable. How can I also verify that my tractor is an original MTA?

Thanks!

Trust me if it's got a TA, it came with it from the factory, The housing is 5 inches longer than the regular super M.

Thanks for the answers. I'm new to tractors and I just got a little worried when it had the wrong faded stickers on it. You could barely see the stickers as the previous owner painted out of a loader that used to be on the tractor and there is white paint dripped all over it. It purrs though and everything works great just needed a paint job. My 2.5 year old loves to go for rides on it.

Somebody will probably get on me for being a killjoy, but the combination you stated above is potentially lethal.

SMTA serial numbers go from 60,001 to 82523. No SM serial numbers overlap. Louisville built SM have a higher serial number series starting at 500,001. Farmall works SM have lower numbers than 60,001.
What is the serial number and does it have any letters following it?
Lots of things can get changed over time, like SMTA chassis with M or SM front bolsters and related parts including a M,SM hood installed. Or a SMTA type chassis added to a SM or other things.

I will second that!

Ok let me clarify since this is really creeping me out.. I am new to Owning a tractor not running one and I take my son down a dirt road in 2nd gear. I understand how the comments I made could be seen like that but that is not what I meant. Thanks for the posts and posting on safety should always be done!

Yes the best of intentions, but every so often on this exact foruum, there's a horrific tragedy story. Just that exact thing. For just one unexpected sudden example, the old coil seat spring can and does snap right in two, and suddenly you have no way to hold on to a chld, a steering wheel, and grab onto something yourself to keep from going off the back. Horrific tragedies. Little kids, OK on rider lawn mowers. Tractors, Nope. Never.

I don't even like lawn mowers. The other thing I don't like is when the kid sneaks up behind you because they want a ride and you don't see them. It can and does happen no matter how "well behaved" your child is.
