A friend has a 826 w the 358 German diesel, with a bosh pump. He has an injector line leaking. It's been brazed before.. The line appears to be impossible to find. I am sure somebody has fixed these, by making a new line.. But I sure can't find anything on the internet.. Yall have any ideas? Line is smaller than 3/16 brake line...

(quoted from post at 15:30:19 08/01/15) Have you tried Central Fuel Injection Service Estherville Ia. 1 800 548-9464

I will check with him and will check if he has not. Thanks for the tip!

making an injector line is pretty much out of the question. each line must be the same length and hold the same # of cc's of fuel. that is why on the short line you have twists, bend or curls in it to be the same as the longest line. this is to keep timing for each cyl. the same. best is to try tractor wreaker for a used one if new not available.

Well that ruins that idea.. Thank you rustred. I did not know those facts.. So the search continues..

A lotta years ago, I brazed a steel hydraulic line on a D8 Caterpillar. It soon cracked right in the braze. I re did it, making the bronze 3/8 thick.
Beautiful bead. It cracked again.
An old timer told me to braze a patch on it. That did the trick.
Same thing happens on steel fuel tanks with a crack. Just a bead doesn't seem to hold. A patch does.
Any chance of laying some reinforcement over the hole and brazing that?
I have also fixed steel brake lines by removing the affected portion, and slipping the next bigger size over it and soldering it. Probably not legal,
but it held forever. Is there room where your bad spot is to do something like that?

I assume you have checked with your Case/IH dealer? Those lines were available a couple of years ago, spendy but available. Also call All States Ag parts, Worthington Ag parts, Abilene Machine or Wengers Ag parts. They for sure can supply used ones.

Smith's in Mayfield KY. 1-270-247-2219. Ask for Steve. He has a lot of hard to find IH parts. He ships nation wide. He deals in new, used and aftermarket IH parts. He runs a IH salvage yard, tractor parts and tire store.
