Looks like I have an outside axle bearing out. How big of a job is it to change. I hear you have to pull the PTO out to get a nut or bolt out? Any help will be appreciated.

yes, to get at the nut on the bullgear shaft. if you cant get it that way then the trans cover has to come off. pull the axle housing out, as it is usually a press job.

if through the PTO is attempted (it works with dexterity) wedge the bull gear/s up to keep them at the correct altitude. Jim

If all the balls are still in the bearing you can get by with just removing the wheel and axle cap. You may need to weld something to the bearing to get something to be able to pull the bearing out.

If you don't have all the balls the least you will have to do is remove the PTO to see if you can find them. If you don't get all the balls removed you will find them when the get caught under the bull gear and push a hole in the bottom of the rear frame.
