super c zenith carb cleaning

I would like to remove the choke rod off this carb for cleaning, but it is held on by a spring clip of some kind ... Anyone know if/how this clip can be removed? I don't see whether to twist or pull. I imagine the rod will slide right out once the clip comes off.

That clip doesent come off its made to stay on the shaft.

There is a little pin to drive out in the other piece mark shaft, before you drive it out or keep a picture to aid in assembly.
