I'm looking at a Farmall 560 gas tractor. I have been around several 560 diesels but never a gas. What should I watch for?

Make sure the gas cap is venting well or the tank will collapse , they are thirsty , other wise it's like any other tractor slop, slack , tires , power steering , and T/A .

The 560 is a pretty good tractor, the big issues will be the common wear parts. Our deisel had lots of issues with the worn out shifting forks, naturally you'll want to check the TA. While they are a real fuel hog when they are being worked hard, they don't burn much as much fuel as you might think doing light duty work. Make sure all the tin work is on the tractor (don't leave any behind). These were only made a few years and it seems like finding replacements (especially side panels) is near impossible. Remember the newest 560 out there is now 52 years old.

Heck it was easy to keep uncle mikes 706 fueled up...breakfast, ride that tractor to the house at dinner time, ride it back to the house at supper time 20 gallon 5 gallon per hour = 4 hour work shifts :)

If you plan to make that tractor work hard everyday, then I agree that a diesel is the only way to go. If your plan is to use it only occasionally, and you want it to start easy in cold weather, then the gas powered tractor is exactly what you want.
