Woods Mower

I am in need of mounting hardware for an L59 Woods Deck. It was on a Massey Pony, and I want to mount it on a Farmall A. Where can I get what I need? Farmall currently has the 5 foot International belly mower.

It isn't all that special. Let me know if you don't find one and I will take a picture of mine. I have it off so it would be easy to photograph. I also have pics of it mounted.

Woods will sell you anything you need. You can email them and get the manual to see what the parts list, etc was.

I just picked up a L306 that came off a Super C and am working on getting it fit to an H. Only part that I needed was the taper lock for the pto sheive that went from 1 1/8" to 1 3/8" pto.

The manual recommends for small, or round, or tapered axles to tack the brackets with a welder to keep them from loosening. On big square axles like the C, H, or M, you can just bolt 'em on tight.

For the front of the mower deck, you can get manual lift hardware and helper springs. Mine isn't going to move once I adjust it, so I'm going to hang it w/ chains and call it good. It's not a big job to re-hook the chain for transport or blade access.

Just put a new belt and blades on an L59 on my Super A today. You will need the drive belt pulley, tightener mechanism and the mounting brackets for the L59 deck. Depending how the IH was raised and lowered, or what lifted the Woods on the Pony, you might need the lift mechanism. Be sure you get the belt installation diagram from Woods, it is important that its installed properly, or it won't last one season. It has a 3/4 twist in one spot, a opposite 1/2 twist in another spot and an opposite 1/4 twist in a third place when you install it. I got 4 years of heavy mowing out of the one that was replaced today. New belt was about $125.00 today & had to be ordered last week to get it here by today. Blades were about $80.00 when I bought them last fall. (My $0.02 worth. jal-SD)

I do have a mechanical lift on the Farmall, as it does have a 5 foot IH deck on it now. I also have two belt pulleys already mounted, as they were used with the IH deck.

Sorry those are not the brackets needed for a woods mower on an A. I have had and sold some and as i say those will not work on the A you need the large assy that bolts from side to side on the final drives with the two idlers for the belt. Whatever that seller thinks must have come from some loco weed or something just another case of trying to sell something someone has told them or whatever.

Woods will sell you everything you need. It will be a bit pricey. Or you could haunt Craigslist or Ebay. Some of what you have may be usable.
