Can someone please tell me how this rod end comes off. Its a JD cylinder (so I was told) and 8223-C is stamped on the rod end. I cannot find a lick of info on it. I need to change the end, thanks

If the application you intend to use it for can be changed it is likely to be easier than removal. If the end is worn out having it bored and rebushed is way better than alternatives. Jim

The original cylinders wore out and these were installed. Couple plates welded (kinda) and I want to restore the rod ends to the original location and eliminate modified plates. The rod ends need to be machined to fit or changed. I just want it to look good, if cost prohibited I will regroup, thanks.

(quoted from post at 22:52:14 07/26/15) If there is no pin or setscrew hole visible, it's probably screwed on.

Nope, not one I have seen but I will have another look. If not, I guess one uses a pipe strap or whatever to hold the rod and unscrew the rod eye? Sound reasonable?

Just clean up the flamed off ends with a angle grinder, reweld the iron to the frame and call it good.
Or scarf off the ugly iron, and weld new brackets to the frame tube so it fits the ram eye better in width. Jim

Thanks Jim, that was my initial thought but then I thought if I could change rod ends and reconect to original connection point I would have a cleaner set up. As I dig into this more I may have to just clean up whats there. Thanks for your time.

New Idea loader. PO said original cylinders wore out and he had JD spare, so he put them on. I am about to clean up welds and call it a day, oem had no rod ends (just found out) simply a hole through the rod end. What a chore!!!!!!!
