Gas Tank & Water

Started my200 to cut grass underneath. Ran for a few min, then water got pulled in fuel bowl and carb.

Pulled carb and cleaned it. Just siphoned out last of water that got in the tank. Used a scrap stick and airline tubing. Worked pretty good.

I'm wondering how that much water got in there. Had a lot of rain and humidity. Condensation?

The most common origin of water in the tank is water in the container it was filled with. Several times "others" used the can/jug/container for water. Running 10% ethanol gas will remove the remaining (assuming it is not a cup!) Jim

Some of that e85 stuff thrown in the tank should remove all of the water. Now just don't run it through your tractor, just use it to get the water.

Still been getting excessive amounts of water in my gas. Was starting to think I had a hole in the tanks seam. Pulled gas cap off to fill up and it poured out water. Maybe a teaspoon worth from this morning's shower!

One of those new ones from the replacement program. Compared it to the old on and seems like there is a slight dent on top where the air holes are. Possibly letting too much water in?
