Back guard for pulley on B question

When did they start putting on the back guards for the pulley wheels on Bs? I have parts of 2. I had to replace the axle on one. Its ser# was 74840, and it had the back guard. I took it off so as to put it behind the pulley wheel on an axle whose ser# is 18424, and theres no place to mount it.

IF anyone knows the years these were made, Id thank you ahead of time to tell me. THANKS

I am FAR from a expert on those tractors, but the parts catalog says "61256D Belt Pulley Guard with Bracket (A and C only)."

LOTS of stuff got swapped between these old machines over the years.

Well, I think that the one I have # 18424 is a 40 and has no provision for attaching the guard, while the other, #748463 is a 41, so they added it early

I made my own, bolted a angle Iron between the seat supports, and got some 10 in wide belting, and bolted it to the angle Iron, the other end[of the belting] rest on the deck in front of the pulley at least it don't threw oil under the seat etc. I knew i got a seal out of the PTO.
