Is Case-IH oil worth the extra cost

The original subject was "Is CaseIH oil worth the extra cost".

Just bought my first '63 IH 340 Utility - gas. Found a copy of an old recording of an IH produced video which explains in detail why low ash oil is important. Just search You Tube for "International Harvester Engine Oils". (Sorry, I'd post the link but the forum doesn't seem to allow that.)
 
For the 6 cylinder IH tractors (modern) the ash should be .5% for all other letter/number gassers, Rotella and other quality brands have only 1% . Compared to oils 25 years ago it is low ash. Jim
