Farmall Serial Number

I got an Internstional Harvester Farmall H from my grandma after my grandfather passed away and I know nothing about it. I'm trying to sell it because we recently bought a new tractor but I can't find anything online about the serial number that's listed for it. I'm not sure if I'm looking in the wrong spot or if I'm reading the number wrong but it says on the cliutch housing "Serial Number F8H 42519"
I don't know the year or anything on it. Just that it runs and that I need to sell it. If someone could tell me on average how much these go for when they are not in mint condition but still run.

Average price range I see for letter series is $500-$2000, yours I'd put near middle around $1200. List it as you feel fit.

This is a serial number list for the H. There are two columns year and starting serial number(for year) find the two numbers yours falls between it is the lower year of the two.
Serial Number List for Farmall: Model H and HV

Price depends a lot on tire condition nowadays since rubber is so expensive. H's are very common so its not 'rare'

I bought a very late H with a 7 foot finish mower under it for 1600 a couple years ago. good rubber, 12 volt with new wiring harness and starter.

Looks great for a tractor almost 75 years old. After that long, part of the tag is very hard to read. It
is actually FBH, painted, & the 42519, is stamped. That makes it a 40 model. With the vertical
distributer, it looks to be a Delco conversion. IMHO that is an improvement over the original magneto.

You might want to know, many a man comes on this site looking forhelp locating Grandpa's tractor many years after the fact. Or great-grandpa's tractor. There's many many H's , only one of Grandpa's. That tractor looks to be in good shape, not rotted away, Might have sentimental value many years from now.

I vote for keeping it. Its not worth a lot in a dollar amount. My Grandfathers SW6 & L-110 Ih truck are still running on the farm even thou he isn't any more.

I can't buy my grandpas Farmall H from the guy he sold it to before passed and it bothers me every time I think of it. I bought an H and it is an awesome tractor but its not my grandpas...I say keep it and give it a little love. My .02
