I was brush hogging Sat and my temp guage started jumping around then it went to hot and stayed there but the engine did not seem to be hot. I shut the tractor off and went to the house. Later I went back and the temp started to go up on the way to the house but before it came up to operating temp it jumped to hot again. I drove it in the shed and the engine was warm but not hot and the same was true for the coolant. I have not checked anything out yet but I was wondering if the electric sending unit on these have to be matched to the gauge or is it just a universal fit one.
