Hi,

I just inherited a '42H. Was the lift-all hydraulic system standard or was it an option on these tractors? Mine doesn't have one (there's a piece of wood covering the space underneath where it would go). I want to restore the tractor but don't know what was there originally. It looks like buying a replacement would be real expensive so I'll probably try to find a plate that would cover the hole but would like to know if all H's had the lift-all or not. Thanks

The lift-all pump, belt pulley, pto, and electrics were ALL optional. If those options were not installed, a heavy, cast iron plate covered the openings.

Thanks! I'll go with the story that it never had it and try to find a "heavy cast iron plate" to cover the hole. Any idea's where I might find one?

True, the 'Lift All'(belly pump) was "optional".But most/VAST majority have that 'option'. A piece of plywood says that the tractor originally have a belly pump that was removed. Those are plentyful. You could probably buy one for under a hundred dollars. The 'delete plate' is rare.Finding one of those would be difficult, and probably cost more than the belly pump setup.

Makes sense. I'll first see if my cousin (the H was her late father's) can find it somewhere on their farm. Thanks for the help.

IH cover plate is more scarce than the hydraulic unit. Plates can be found but some want the price you could find a hydraulic unit for one.
This is the number in picture.
