Farmall Super C Fan Hub - Repair or Replace?

I put oil in the fan hub of my Super C and it leaked right out. I inherited this tractor from my Dad, and I don't recall him ever putting oil in or mentioning putting oil in it. Good chance it hasn't seen oil in many years.

I want to make it right, as I pull a wagon in parades and go on the occasional tractor ride and don't want a sudden lock-up of the hub to ruin my day. Are the wear parts and seals available and straightforward to install, or should I plan to replace the whole hub?

What procedure did you use to put oil in it? There is NO real oil seal used, and the hub doesn't need to be repaired or replaced unless there is excessive wear/looseness.

Here's the correct oiling procedure:

"Fan lubrication, on the side of fan hub you will see a blade type screw.

With that screw level of fan shaft, remove screw and fill with light oil.

This hub has an unusual device whereby you then turn fill hole to bottom to drain excess oil."

Once you have rotated the screw hole downward and allowed time for the oil to drip out and reach the level of the internal standpipe, reinstall the screw.

Talk to your local red dealer. Ther is a reolacment fan and hub assy that uses a sealed bearin, so no more worrying about oil.

Yes, I read the owner's manual and followed that procedure.
