Wow, what y'all supose an M long block might way. My engine stand is rated at 1000 lbs. lol!! My hoist rated at 1100... And it's a harbor frieght special, haha.

I couldn't give you an accurate guess buddy, cuz I never imagined only the engine weighing that much. Maybe with the flywheel, bell housing etc. but then again im prolly way off.

(quoted from post at 06:19:18 07/04/15) I bought one out of a junkyard years ago, they weighed it at 1300 lbs.

How many salvage yard operators were standing on that scale when the engine was weighed? The shipping weight of an F20 was 3,950 pounds.

The center of gravity on an F30 is indicated by a pointer on the front of the transmission just back from the front edge. I assume the 20 is about the same, so half of that 3,950 pounds has to be forward of the transmission. Frame rails aren't much leaving the bolster, radiator, and engine as the main weight. Take off about 100 for the radiator, 500 for the front bolster and that leaves 1300 for the engine. I think He's close

I'm surprised at the 1300# number. I just hauled a TD-6 engine for my brother and it weighed 1700#. I weighed the pickup before and after loading the engine. I would
think a diesel engine would be much heavier than a gas counterpart.
