Looking for B ammeter/switch box and advice

I am restoring my brothers 1942 B. It did not come with lights but we want to add them. Trouble is, I cannot find a switch box (or ammeter box, been hearing it called both). Does anyone sell these or do I need to look on eBay or similar?

Also, does anyone have a link to a good wiring diagram?

You might try James MacFaden,JR in Sharon Springs NY ( 1-518-284-2090 or 2871). they have/had a large inventory of everything. When I got stuff for my John Deere L he was quire reasonable. I am not sure about the wiring diagram, possibly someone on here.

Owners manual has one. Do you have the correct gen and cut-out Gen #is either a 1101355 or 1101423. You can find the controls on ebay Farmall parts from time to time.

Pretty sure it's all original. The generator has the oil fill holes with the little caps. The cut out is mounted beneath the fuel tank on the left side, correct? It has 1 terminal on the left and 2 on the right.

Ken, email me at [email protected]
I just put together one BN out of two and have parts left over.
I have an original switch/ammeter box with the ammeter in it.
It has the CNH replacement 3 position switch in it currently too.
You may have to get a 4 position switch if you need that one.

Dear Kent I have a new unused box and lid that cane out ou the IHC plane. Would be willing to part with it. It was designed for that series of tractor.
Call me at 226-289-3252 this aft or evening or any evening after 6 pm EDT. I would be willing to ship it to you.

Your comment is you are "restoring" so does that mean what you said or just getting it working so what do you realy mean as your gen is not orginal or even the mount. You are asking for help.

Well restoration was the plan, I guess those parts looked natural enough that I did not even consider they weren't factory.

That's probably the cutout, they can be mounted about anywhere.
Here's the saddle mounted one on my BN generator.
Black box on top of the red generator.
I can't tell you for sure this is original either.
I know the paint scheme is not original, but the location is closer.

Gene the casting number on the block is 251069-R1,
serial number on the flat above the governor is 300163.
I believe that makes the engine from a 1951 Super A.
As I said, its a mutt, but it runs and looks good.

I had two BN's around here, one with two seats and a bad rear
end, this one with some other problems, so we made one of the two.

These are before and after. Four days apart.
Sorry Kent, not trying to hijack your thread.

I see you have the bracket on the front for the 221 cult and the lever on the platform is for the rear tooling for that and 236,238 cults.

I have the front cultivator for it too Gene.
None for the rear though.

Kent, here are a couple pics of the switch box I have.

Sorry for the late reply - I have had three funerals this week.

I talked with my uncle and he thought the B did not have lights when grandpa bought it new. My brother decided he did not care. He wants what he wants, not what was delivered from the factory. So I guess it is more of a refurbish than restoration.

Am I correct in thinking the cutout will still work with the lights?
