Friend just got a Super MTA and it has a noise in the back of the motor. It sounds like a rod knocking but if you engage the PTO it gets a little more quiet. I would say the splines on the pressure plate are wore. So good people on here what do you think? I know with out hearing it it is just a guess. thanks.

Remove inspection plate [4 bolts] on bottom of clutch
area. Engine off. Engage PTO. Put punch in hole of
PTO shaft & turn back & forth to see how much play
is in the pressure plate / PTO splines.
Can use a flashlight to see what is going on in the
clutch department while a helper turns the PTO back
& forth.
