Woods belly mower.

I posted this message on Implements panel also. I purchased a Farmall Super A with a Woods belly mower on it. I have no numbers to go by for model or belt size. It's a 5 foot 3 blade mower with the discharge on the left side. I need a new belt and there is no number on the belt either. It one long belt. Can any one give me the belt number or the size of it. This mower is not new by any chance.

without seeing a picture of the mower, is a gamble, but, more than likely it is a woods 59. there was also a woods L59 which was a counter clockwise rotation. take a couple pictures and go to your nearest woods dealer, they should be able to i.d. the mower.

There IS a number on the belt. You need GOOD light to find it.

If it discharges to the left, it would be an "L" something or other.

Could be the older Woods L503A, too. Might be a good idea to post a picture of the mower. Here is a picture of a L503A.

Go to the Woods site and download the manual, info you need and all the part numbers, which are still made. The whole mower is still made. No charge.

Most likely a Woods L59 mower. Any Woods dealer can get you a belt. Or there are plenty for sale on EBay. You'll need a manual for the mower which has instructions on how to install the belt. The manual is available on the Woods website.

We have a L59 on a Farmall C and the belt was looking bad. I taped the end of a 50 foot tape measure onto the back of the belt and pulled it all the way around the run, then went online and found a table to tell me what the pitch length is, I think it is a B225. We ordered one online, it fit and runs very well for about $50. The length of the belt can vary depending how the mower is mounted on the tractor, I would measure before I would buy one, if you run it until it breaks then you can't measure it.

I put a new belt on my Super A's L-59 on June 6th. The part number is 4152. Its expensive, $123.85 delivered to Scott Supply in Mitchell, SD. I also put new blades on it that I bought last fall. The part number for a blade kit (three blades in a kit) is 23825KT. They were $82.34 from Scott last fall. I just looked up the invoices for both that I kept in my parts book. The book has the diagram on how to install the belt, it takes a 3/4 twist in one area going up to the pulley on the PTO, a 1/2 twist in the opposite direction in another area and a 1/4 opposite twist in another location. Good luck, as installing the belt is kind of a PIA. (My $0.02 worth. jal-SD)

The L59 mower on the super A uses a 214 inch belt. I don't think that is a standard size belt. I got an after market one off EBay and it was 210 inches. Made it work, but really too short. There are plenty of sources for replacement belts for this application that are the correct belt. They will work just as well as the one from the Woods dealer and cost less.

I used a Woods L59A mower on our Super A for several years, using the original belt many years. The first replacement belt was a Woods #4152. The next belt was a B210 which was picked up at a NAPA store and was still in service when we retired the tractor and mower two years ago.
