OK on my little 1977 CUB I just did the valves. The IH book says .o15 and some were a little tighter than that and one was looser but nothing way off. I had a little valve tap till she warmed up so I thought I would do the valves. You can do them with two 1/2 inch wrenches. The book says to take the manifold off. NO NEED if you take a little care. Remove the carb and the cover and then be a little careful. Here is my question. The valve cover gasket from the local IH dealer was too long! Not just a little but like 1/2 inch too long. Couldn't even get the cover onto the side of the block. I cut the gasket and removed about 1/2 inch and then glued it onto the cover plate. It is dark now so I will see if everything fits tomorrow. Anyone got any ideas? wELL one goof up and also the keyboard buddy. You can see how much I took out of the gasket to get a correct fit. He came with the gasket. Some creep dumped him off in back of the place. He is a total snuggle puss so he once had a home. Now has one.
