We found a shop modifided fast hitch brush hog at auction, when using this does any one remember how to set up the fast hitch on the back of a 460, There is a PTO on the brush hog of course, and I'm not sure if I should have the Vertical float for the cylinder bellcrank pined fixed or floating, the hitch sockets I think should be pined in the forward position, the lateral swing control strap I think should be fixed for side to side the right lift link to floating and the left lift link to floating, I can not find a mauel to a bursh hog to figure this out can any one help?

The fast hitch is not going to be best as it is modified (pics would make your setup clear). I would do two things if the FH prongs are fixed on the hog, I would modify them to pivot vertically. this allows the FH to lift and lower the front of the hog, but not the back. I would then make a chain based top link to lift the rear of the hog about 6 inches after the front lifts. A rear tail wheel should be used to control trailing height on ground contours. This allows the hog to follow the ground and not be lifting and lowering as the tractor goes through swales and over humps. In some cases, the rear of the hog could be jammed into the ground as you have it (If I am thinking correctly about the way it is set up. Jim

Don't know about on the 460 but on the 00 series you would want to lock it for the side to side but allow it to float. That way when you go through a hole it can raise instead of bending in half. If the 60 series has an adjustment in the front of the hitch, set it so the hog is either level or slightly nosed down at the height you want to mow at. With it nosed down the blades will straighten out when they are coming around the back and hit the grass in the front with more force giving you a better cut.
