danco c-2 question

i had to replace the bearings on the danco c-2 mower that the farmall cub runs after one developed some slack, since i was there i replaced both bearings races and seals, it ran fine when i put it back on the tractor, until today when it developed some wobble to the shaft after mowing app 6 hours straight,i tightened that big nut again that's just under the pulley which helped some,the question is just how tight is that big nut supposed to be??

also after several internet searches im thinking there are no replacement blades for this mower anymore? what if i was to go to a place i know that makes new springs for big trucks and equipment and have them cut some blanks out of spring material before its got any bend to it the same overall size as the original blades, will that work to make some new blades?

Just bought a set for one of those like 3 weeks ago. Wasnt Danco, or IH though, I think maybe Oregon blades, but the book the dealer I got them from had it listed and had them for me the next day.
