I just inherited a 1941 farmall A from my grandparnts the gas was really old and varnish.I drained the tank put a new fuel valve and sediment bowl I also installed a new needle ans seat in the carb. I can get it to fire and run for a second or two then it dies. Also when im rolling it over sometimes white smoke comes out of the exhaust when i roll ot over. Thank you

Check spark first and make sure you have a good blue/white spark at all 4 plug wires that will jump a 1/4 inch gap. Next there is a drain plug on the bottom of the carb. Remove it and make sure you have a good steady flow of gas for a few minutes catch it to look for water/rust/dirt. Also pull the air cleaner oil bath cup and try starting it with it off.

There is a good chance that the new fuel will scrub varnish off of the fuel line and plug the screen in the fitting at the carb. This screen is easily plugged and kind of hidden. Jim

Do the things others have said but I doubt there is a spark problem. It is an updraft carburetor so it has to have fuel. Blow out the fuel line and clean the sediment bowl again and every time you also drain and flush the carburetor float bowl. Water can accumulate in the float bowl as well as the glass bowl on the tank. It may take several times flushing and cleaning the carb before you get it to run well. Do clean and refresh the tank bowl even if it looks clean. This was an every year experience back in the day we used these tractors. Just setting over the winter the carb would get clogged up and it would take several times flushing and clearing the sediment bowl, the fuel line and the carburetor as well as the screen at the entrance to the carb. You do not have to remove the carb from the tractor to do this flush.

You said it had set and gas was oil and varnished. You said you put new valve and sediment bowl but did you clean the tank of any rust or varnish in bottom of tank.

There's a few things you can do when you have a tractor that runs then stops If you think its the carb. You can try to pull the choke out when it starts to die unless you already have it out just so it will start. The other thing is a little unorthodox but works well when you have a tractor that starts but wont continue to run. As you know liquid finds its own level pull your drain plug and rig a fitting or just wedge A clear tube in the bowl drain so it don't leak hold it up or tape it to the carb or along side the carb you will now have a visual aid and be able to see the level of fuel in the bowl If there is any and what happens after you start the tractor. This is similar to a water level made from a coffee can much more accurate than most laser levels Note: I would follow Olds advice as well
If you need a manual I can email you one.
Good luck with it Byron
