casting numbers?

There are casting codes in all the major cast parts. The transmission housing, deck plate, bolster, and maybe a few more. I think the casting code is in the areas of the front right on the deck as you are sitting on the tractor i could be wrong though.
 
I think also on the axle trumpets /housings / whatever they're called. You'll probably find different dates, I even found different years on my H.
 
All the big cast pieces have them, wheel centers, trans deck under your feet narrow frt end pedestal, belt pully gear box, axle housings and so on.
 
I just went around on my CUB. International harvester had them all over the place on our tractors. I found the dates were almost a MONTH apart! Most were like the last three days of june 1977. It is neet cause you can date your tractor almost to the day. Be aware that the last date you can find, say may28th. The actual build date is most likely two or three days latter. My transmission is the latest date but to go from casting, then machine work, then assembly, and then onto the line. Two or three days. Make it about July 1st or second.
