Cub sheet metal question

So I'm about half way into a restoration of a '47 Cub with my son. I had never noticed two holes on the right side of the main hood , about 1/2" diameter, until I started sanding it between final coats of red. The holes appear to be factory made made. Very clean; not drilled out. I looked through the owners manual and couldn't find any picture of another tractor with similar holes. Are they for an accessory of some sort? Just wonderin'.....

Yup..Take your long neck oil can and dribble a little oil into the oil cups on your generator. Those are for the folk who don't have pump cans but the old style oiler cans. I used a squeeze bottle with a long flexable extension tub from the local HVAC supply store. They call it Turbine Oil. Used in electric motors and such. Like $2.oo per bottle. Use the stuff all over the place!
